Experimental solar powered homes that were designed by college and university students from around the world will be on display today on Washington's National Mall for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathon competition. The homes must be livable and operate on solar power alone. The top three houses and their designers will be announced on Oct 16, 2009. I think it is a really great idea to be teaching our future designers and engineers the importance of renewable energy
